The Himplant procedure is a relatively short outpatient procedure that typically allows patients home the same day. During the procedure, the patient is first sedated with anesthesia. He will then insert the customized Himplant sheath through the incision and fit it to the most optimal position along the penile shaft. After the Procedure

After the Himplant procedure, you will spend 60 to 90 minutes in the recovery room, then you will be on your way. Our office will refresh you on proper postoperative conduct and send you home with post-operative instructions.

As with any surgical procedure that involves anesthesia, you are not allowed to drive yourself home. We require that you coordinate with a friend or family member to be present at the surgery center so that they are prepared to pick you up and escort you back to your home or hotel. If not, we can provide you with information on a nurse service that can support you.

Recovery & Aftercare From Penis Enlargement Surgery

Possible complications have been well studied and their risks are minimized with proper postoperative care. If complications occur, they are mostly due to patient noncompliance. Possible side effects and complications may include:

Is the Penuma Penile Implant Removable?

Yes, the Himplant is removable. According to a five-year, 400-patient IRB-approved, peer-reviewed study on the effectiveness of the Penuma penile implant, only 3% of patients had adverse events that led to implant removal.

What is it?

FDA-cleared silicone implant placed into the penis. It is designed as a enhancement procedure to increase a man’s flaccid length and girth.

The suspensory ligament attaches the penis to the pubic bone. By cutting or “releasing” the suspensory ligament, the internal base of the penis protrudes out further, providing a potential increase in penile length. We do not offer or recommend this procedure because it can lead to scarring and retraction, potentially shortening the penile length.

AlloDerm is a tissue matrix that facilitates the migration of new cells and blood vessels into body tissue. AlloDerm can be used to potentially increase penile girth when grafted onto the penile shaft. We do not offer or recommend this procedure because it can lead to potentially severe side effects, such as penile skin infections and/or skin necrosis.

Dermal Fat Grafts are typically used to close non-healing wounds on the body. In the context of male enhancement, dermal fat is harvested from the crease of the buttocks and then grafted onto the penis to increase penile girth. We do not offer or recommend this procedure as it can lead to a host of complications like donor site infection, fat tissue fibrosis, and/or detachment of the graft (failure to take).

Fillers material (collagen, fat, or hyaluronic acid) is injected into the penile shaft with the purpose of increasing penile length and girth. However, we do not recommend or offer this procedure as any increases in size are temporary and can often lead to deformities in the penis.

This procedure removes excess fat from the suprapubic region (the area from which the penis protrudes) via lipectomy. For those with buried penis syndrome, this procedure can reveal the entire penile shaft and relieve symptoms like urinary tract issues and skin irritation.

PMMA fillers contain a mixture of microscopic polymer beads and bovine collagen gel. PMMA fillers are FDA-cleared to fill facial wrinkles and correct nasolabial folds. When injected into the penis, PMMA fillers can often deform the penis or even lead to erectile dysfunction. Because of these potential side effects, we do not recommend or offer this procedure.

Flaccid penile extension with weights or traction devices is not recommended by our offices. In order to see any potential lengthening results, extension devices must be worn/utilized for multiple hours, every day, for months. In the best possible cases, the penis is lengthened by 0.5 inches but at the cost of bruising and constant discomfort.

Jelqing is a penis stretching exercise that is similar to penile extenders. It involves massaging one’s penis tissue, stretching the skin to create “micro-tears” that expand flaccid and erect size when they heal. There is no scientific evidence to support claims that jelqing works.

Penis pumps consist of a plastic tube that fits around the penis, and a “pump” that pulls air from the chamber to create a vacuum and dilate penile blood vessels. Penis pumps are typically used by men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, though they can be used in healthy individuals to facilitate “larger” erections.

None of these pills have been proven to work, and some contain potentially hazardous ingredients that can damage the liver. The pills that some men claim to have “worked wonders” are actually just erectile dysfunction pills masked as an enlargement solution.

How long must I abstain from sexual activity after the Penuma procedure?

Patients are expected to abstain from all sexual activity until given clearance by the medical staff. Clearance is usually given 6 to 8 weeks after the procedure, but this can vary based on an individual’s healing.

Do penis enlargement pills work?

There are no penis enlargement pills that have been proven to work. Most are either simply a placebo at best, while others can be potentially harmful to the body. We don’t recommend taking any kind of pill that claims to increase penis size.

With the Himplant, am I always erect/hard?

No. The implant fits naturally with your penis whether you are in a flaccid/soft state or erect/hard state.

Can my partner tell that I did penis enlargement surgery? Is the implant noticeable?

The physician makes no incisions on the penis. The only incision is in the suprapubic or scrotal area and maybe hidden overtime under the pubic hair. Patients report that if a partner has not seen the patient’s penis prior to the procedure, the partner typically cannot tell that there is a silicone implant present. Nevertheless, we do expect that patients discuss this procedure with their partners well in advance of the journey.

What about non-surgical penis enlargement methods?

Unfortunately, no non-surgical method for penile enlargement has proven to be effective. Non-surgical methods to achieve a larger penis can include pumps, pills, or jelqing, but unfortunately, there is no proof that these methods work and can sometimes be damaging to patients.
